"Welcome to New York! It’s been waiting for you," advertised a sign on a 1st Avenue bus stop kiosk. I love that quote on Taylor Swift’s new album. It made me smile. I was on my way back to the apartment my family was staying at after a long shopping trip. And I did feel welcome. New York was a blur of sights, sounds, and colors. New York was crazy, but I liked it. Just taking a walk half the people you see look like they just came off the catwalk and forgot to change. Being me, I took pictures of everything that I saw. And I mean everything. I had my hands glued to my phone the whole time taking pictures. There were so many interesting things! While I was in New York I had some pretty cool opportunities, like visiting museums, restaurants, and practically everything else. I have never shopped so much in my life. It was a fashion freaks heaven! One of the first stores that I went to was Nordstrom Rack. While I was walking back from Nordstroms I saw this really cute shop called Strawberry's on east 14th street and just had to go in. Their clothes were really cute and most of the pieces were ten dollars and under, which made me very happy. They had clothes, shoes and cosmetics that were super cute and affordable, and after spending almost an hour there my family had to drag me out. Then we headed to one of my FAVORITE store EVER, H&M. I could live in that store. I ended up getting some super cute sweaters and an adorable floral patterned romper. And yes, I ended up spending way more than I planned. But my shopping adventures did not stop there. We went to Lush! Walking into the Lush store is like walking into a field filled with every kind of flower ever It just made me fantasize about taking a bath in pink water that smelled like roses. Ahhh……. After my shopping spree, I decide that I wanted to walk down Fifth Avenue, so that I could do some serious window shopping and look wistfully at all of the beautiful designer clothes. I love seeing what the top designers are into now, and I felt so sophisticated walking on Fifth Avenue. Now that you know how addicted I am to shopping, I should tell you that I did do other things while I was there. (Not many other things, but I still did them.) One place that I was really excited about seeing was the Whitney Museum, which had just opened. There were some really amazing art pieces there. Although the art was beautiful, the walk there was just as exciting. On our long walk to the museum (dad, you couldn't have gotten a taxi?) I saw a fashion shoot was taking place on the street outside the museum! The photographers were taking pictures for sports wear, and it was really interesting seeing what different cameras and equipment in action. I would only get to see something like that in New York. Since I am obsessed with Instagram and taking pictures, on my trip I had to take advantage of every opportunity to take super cute pictures. So this summer, after a long walk in Chinatown, (which has some amazing bubble tea by the way) we took an even longer walk so that I could visit the iconic Sprinkles Cupcake shop, and visit the cupcake ATM, which you have probably seen all over Tumblr. I mean, who doesn't love an ATM which gives you an actual cupcake??!! After visiting the cupcake shop, we went to have lunch at little Italy. The Italian food there was amazing, but after some exploring I discovered that they had an entire room filled with jar upon jar of Nutella. I had found chocolate hazelnut heaven and visited one of my favorite places ever. All was right with the world. XO, Bella
